Farewell to Feile, thank you to all involved

  • Jun 11,2019

What a great weekend of hurling & camogie the National Feile Na Gael brought the club, with the whole club pulling together in supporting it. The boys team came ever so close to creating their own little bit of club history. To participate in a Feile weekend is a special honour & both the U14 Hurling & Camogie teams can be extremely proud of the part they played in providing such great entertainment on the pitch & in their hospitality off of it.

New friendships were created with Clara GAA & Conahy Camogie clubs which will be recalled for a long time yet, while the members of the various clubs pulled together & displayed great teamwork in showcasing our club to all our visitors over the weekend.

Many people were part of creating this fabulous weekend but special thanks must go to a few people;
The Host families in the extreme hospitality shown over the weekend while also making time to provide refreshments on Friday & Saturday.
The U14 Hurling & camogie teams & their mentors in preparing the teams so well & guiding them through the competition.
The Feile committee which was made up from the Camogie & Juvenile clubs & was responsible for a Trojan amount of work behind the scenes in the lead up to the event & over the weekend.
Ciaran Hennessy who undertook the task of Venue co-ordinator in Brinny for the weekend & the team of club volunteers pulled together to officiate in the games.
The hardworking volunteers who provided refreshments to the visitors in Brinny on Friday & Saturday & again in the Hall on Saturday night.
John & Amy Quinn, Harry Dart O’Flynn & Maeve Wall for their photography skills over the weekend & providing us with some great action shots & memories of the event.

Thanks to the many people who tweeted from the various games during the weekend, great to see so many people willing to promote the club and club activities in a positive way.
The U16 & 18 camogie players who ran the tuck shop over the weekend & provided some sweet treats to the kids.
Those who contributed financially & sponsored various aspects of the event – PM Cronin & Co Accountants, Kelleher Landscaping, Sheehan Fire Control systems, Centra Innishannon & Crossbarry, Valleys Rovers Adult Club, Scoil Eoin & the U14 players & families.

Lots of photos from the weekend can now be seen on the website, with camogie & hurling sections uploaded. Go to the Photo Section of the Website and then the Feile2019 Folder or click

Many thanks to everyone once again for being part of a great weekend for the club.
