Coaching in our Schools

Valley Rovers Juvenile Coaching Committee have been working recently to put plans in place to get coaching into each of the schools in our parish.

We are looking to arrange a session for one hour each week for each class in each of the 4 schools in the parish. The coaching will range from football and camogie/hurling, as well as other elements such as fundamental movements.

We are in the latter stages of planning with each of the schools to finalise dates & times.

Coaches from the Ladies Football, Camogie and Juvenile clubs are coming together to get involved and volunteer their time, which is massively appreciated. 

We will also look at other options such as the support from Transition Year students and looking at ring-fencing some of the funds from the Cul Camp money from last year.

There is already fantastic work being done in the schools and we want to try and ensure every child gets this opportunity if they wish to participate.

We wish to thank each of the 4 schools for their support to date. Time slots for each class will be agreed with each respective school.

Please bear with us as we try to get this off the ground initially as for sure we will need to update things as we go.

We hope to start phasing in the sessions from January 24^th and will ensure compliance to all Covid guidelines. 

The aim is to get as many children as possible into playing the games, enhance their skills further and have a bit of fun along the way!
